| The Great Falls on the Lamoille River sit where the valley narrows and the water drops 88 feet in a series of small, sparkling cascades. These Falls have driven the hydro-powered industry since the 1790s. Hydroelectric development began here in 1904. I took this photograph in the golden light after 5 p.m. as the shadows grew on a shimmering, sunlit October day. The unique shape of the Fairfax dam offered the reflection on infinity. |
